The Colon Club Works to Help Wipe Out Colon Cancer

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

Did you know that colon cancer is the second-leading cancer killer in the U.S. of men and women combined? Each year there are more than 130,000 new cases and 50,000 deaths. The disease is preventable with screening and 90 percent curable. One in 20 people will be diagnosed with this disease in their lifetime.

The Colon Club connects survivors and caregivers affected by colorectal cancer so they never have to feel alone. Major objectives include offering support and spreading awareness about colorectal cancer in the under 50 population, as well as educating about early screening, risk factors, and symptoms.

Patients and caregivers can connect with people who face the daily struggles associated with a colon cancer diagnosis by accessing the anonymous online forum called ‘Colon Talk’. The Colon Club also helps children of colon cancer patients by offering scholarship opportunities through The Kimberly Fund.

Visit www.colonclub.com to get information on colon cancer related topics through The Colon Club Blog and our annual “On the Rise” magazine, which features young survivors and caregivers. Help us spread the word and save the booties!
