United Spinal Offers Ways to Stay Connected This Holiday Season
By Lindsey Elliott, Director of Member Initiatives at United Spinal Association
United Spinal has been busy creating lots of opportunities for members to connect with the organization and each other during this holiday season. Take a look at a few ways people can get involved today.
First, those interested can join United Spinal’s online Facebook support group . The goal of this group is to provide United Spinal members a welcoming place to share their success, challenges and experiences living with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D). It's also a place to connect with new friends, ask or answer questions, and inform others about interesting news, virtual events and opportunities around the country for wheelchair users and all people with disabilities.
United Spinal also offers national peer mentoring, which connects a mentor with a mentee who is looking for support and advice. This is a great way to interact with someone who can offer guidance, resources and real-life experience. It’s always nice to speak with someone who truly understands.
Check out United Spinal Social Hour, which takes place every Thursday at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. EST. The virtual event is good for general chit-chat and a break from the daily grind. During these challenging times, connection and a sense of community is more important than ever. Learn ways to connect with your local United Spinal chapter, support groups and peer mentoring networks. Register below:

Lastly, if you are seeking employment, United Spinal has a wonderful Employment Resource Group that meets every other Monday at 5 p.m . EST to share resources, brainstorm solutions and offer tips on your pathway to employment.
If you are not already a member, United Spinal encourages you to join. It’s free and our membership community provides a lifeline for many individuals who are focused on regaining their independence and improving their quality of life.
United Spinal wants to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. To learn more about the United Spinal’s programs and resources, feel free to call directly at (800) 962-9629. Also, contact the Resource Center Team for additional information.
